it's almost a month since i last wrote an entry in this section. nothing really fantastic but fantastic photos to share during january, but for now, maybe i'll just show you some pictures that i've took during my ex colleague's wedding dinner

yeap, definitely a fun bunch of people. we enjoyed ourselves at chinaclub during the dinner. high up on the 52th level of capitol building getting first class service and top notch delicacies. envy ? :P

just these updates at the moment. things will be clear in june 2007 not sure about the date yet. but hopefully that shall be the month. hope all of you are still with me. i shall do my best to update this page as often. am writing and arranging all my tracks. so it's not going to be an easy job. the truth is, i've taken the port folio photos 1 week ago at a few places on this island.

without this team of people that i've worked with over that weekend, my photo shoot can never happen ! irregardless of any situation, i will never give up. just like how all of you had been giving me support. just on this production alone. i treasure your hardwork. and i'm going to make all your hardwork worth while.

time passes real fast. everyday is busy. with songs writing and stuffs. really thanks all who had attended the gathering. we're thankful to all who had been so supportive towards us.

as for the time being is planning of imaging and stuffs. we will be taking out portfolio photos soon. quite alot of things to arrange. as for the costumes costing, it's also quite a lot. but nevertheless, we had prepared to shoot for a few concept images. will release further details on a later date. so these days is lots of planning and work.

we'll be trying to work out some stuffs. had the concept and style of the album already. so most probably will be standing in the shoes of a small producer.

time for some little update ... my FOOT ! had recovered ... thanks many for the messages .... as for the gathering, it's 6 more days from now till the actual ... preparation is good .... will be playing some new songs ... arrangement and everything is done by myself ... from head to toe ! we'll see how it goes ... actually now rushing for lyrics ... not going to be an easy task to get the right lyrics ...

there's actually a song that i like a lot, which i think will be suitable for the next chinese 古裝 movie or any jet li cast. will be the best, will let you all hear the instrumental version .... i promise even without lyrics, i will let you hear the instrumental version when possible. :)

my portfolio album is almost done. shall be getting ready for photo shooting and stuffs. any image consultant there interested to take up the job ? will need some new imaging or clothes for the shoot. but me and xiaolong haven't got anytime to shop yet. gotta plan something out .....

so we shall wait and see how's the outcome.

wondering what's going on ? ok i injured my leg during soccer.

and arranging as much songs as i could. then started to practice singing after 2 months of music training. it's time to get things going. almost there.... 70% ?

some small updates for now. alot didn't know i actually cook, and yes i do. but i guess many had been wondering why i cook ... and what had i been cooking and how it looks like. let me show you

NAHz ! not this. the abv pictures is western and definitely it's not from me. but my uncle who works in genting as a big chef actually cooked western for all every time he comes back from genting during his off days. meaning i will have the real western kind stuffs and really good food !!

my humble meal comes like daily oriental stuffs. which is like the economical rice when u buy takeaways from coffeeshop. and i didn't have any garnishes for them. so it doesn't look as pleasant

dear all, my apologies for not updating this website as frequent as i had did in the past. was in the midst of handling some stuffs.

as each of jade previous members had different interests to do their own stuffs, hereby announce that jade are left with only me and xiaolong at the point of time. it's abit hard to all to digest these in this sudden announcement. but i believe it is for everyone's own good. shaun and bryan decided to form a band with rustynail's drummer, the cute one... yes ... and brods as well. to play in some pubs. that's what i've heard. so i can only wish them all the best for the decision made. as for jenson, he has got his commitments on alot of things related to musical and stuffs. so ..... nothing much i can do now but to push on myself. 

it's a painful decision to make for all. but i guess it's just part and parcel of life. currently left in jade are xiaolong and me. i had been writing like over hundred songs in this period of time. we decided to proceed with some simple arrangement on our own for those short listed ones. now the good news. you will be able to hear them somewhere in mid october. and of course, we will get ourselves ready with sufficient preparation and rely on things that may come to our help ... haha. sounds like we gotta be "god" dependant.

life is just like a box of chocolate. u never know what you will get. maggots?  nice chocolates ? u can't see from the packaging. but definitely a lesson learnt.

thanks for the msges on friendster and the tag board. many thanks to those who had supported us in superband and their concern towards jade. hereby i would like to clarify some stuffs as well. alot of people had been asking or might be wondering... what happened to terrence ? why is he not in the dream band ? well, to clarify this issue, it's not about who can sing and who can't. due to the fact that why didn't they put brods in the dream band instead if they are looking for the perfect dream band ?

for all your information. there's already 4 out of 5 members of jade already in the dream band item. so it's very much impossible to put me inside the dream. because the meaning will be lost if i were inside the dream band. might as well get jade to perform that segment ? due to political reason of the whole setup of variety that this grand finals wanna portray, they have to pick a few from gforce, jing bao and stuffs. because they had no other people to pick from already. even the whole band of mantou wasn't involved in anything as well. we can't actually be there to control this kind of matters. we gotta be fair to other contestants as well. i'm more than happy to see almost 70% of the dream band performance is all about jade !

at alot of times i feel it's pretty hard to divide my attention equally among many people. and i don't want to be unfair to anyone. that's why i prefer to stay more reserve in a sense i don't want anyone to be unhappy. just like darren and weiyu, they had been my buddies for ten over years and yet i don't have the time to spend even talking or having a proper meal with them. that's the saddest thing on earth that i want to mention about. so sorry to both of them. i know that alot of you out there want to find out more about me and get more chance to talk to me. but please pardon me for a moment of time first. we are working out on something at the moment to give our best to actually work something out in music.

going through lots of highs and lows within this period of time frame since superband had ended. finally came to some conclusion on some of the issues that had been floating since the start of superband. don't be too worried about what will happen next. we shall leave it to god and luck to fall on us. but nevertheless i must be prepared with my stuffs and do the necessary things that i have to do even before lady luck smiles ! opportunities are for people who are prepared ! remember this.

Sorry again to those who had been sending in msges through lots of avenue. thanks and keep them going, i'm reading them ! and i will find time to reply those stuffs whenever i'm free. had since written another 5 songs since the last 8 songs that i had written as mentioned. treating it as a new start, we shall wish and hope for the best to happen. last but not least, don't worry .... i have my eyes to see everything that is happening around me. let's be part of happiness and never resign to fate ! is how you want to feel than how people make you feel ! miss you all .....

endless preparation and eliminations had lead on to the coming grand finals of this superband competition. looking at what had happened during the past months really bring up some memories and left memorable footsteps for us. not to mentioned, the agony of not knowing how much votes all of you had casted and how much money all of us had spent on costumes, preparation, taxis, food, and some ending up without income, without jobs and sweats plus blood dripping all over the places... ok joking* not that serious though

definitely is fun knowing all of you in this competition and i hope everyone would continue to support your favourite bands all the way. thru this journey, alot of us had been through and learnt alot from each other especially in knowing there're so many talents around in singapore. esp in the superband competition. singers, there's always plenty. but bands ? with people playing instruments ? how many of you had actually notice anyone of them on the stage ? it's easy to be a soloist but it's never easy singing in a band. especially with all different levels of musicianship and coming from different influences of music. and finally we are coming to and end of this episode thru the grand finals.

to all, it might seems to be just a plain competition. but there's lots of art hidden behind this competition. have anyone though of how difficult is it to manage a band ? or have anyone know that if a player is extremely good in a band, he will have to lower his standard to fit in a band. in a band, it's not about showing what you can play. it's more of showing what you can play as a team. there's alot of good instrumentalists around in singapore. but not many can work with each other. due to the fact of different skills level, different way of communication. it's more of a relationship kind of thing. and in this superband competition, we also learnt that on tv, competition is not just a plain competition on its own. but a competition that is filled with agony and tv entertainment value. not just music ! in a drama, you will always see bad guys around and a few heros dying before the bad guys die ... and of course we don't have to calculate how many heros had died in the hands of the bad guys.

and it's always what the judges say that influenced the audience. with all the plots and story lines that makes the show interesting. we just have to take it that life is just filled with different endings. no matter good or bad, we learn to accept it and live out of it to improve and excel on the bad.

well after so much rubbish, it's just a moment of thought that had struck me in a while.

coming to the end of superband, jade actually had a small gathering organised by darren in actors pub. thanks for the efforts of jamie, darren, belinda, serene and weiyu. Thanks for the help and all the time spent. Really appreciate it.

We had some great time there. Though during this period of time before the gathering, jade is actually busy doing our own stuffs and personal commitments. because of the gathering, we manage to draw time just before the start of the gathering, to actually practice our songs. but nevertheless, because of the short time, we manage to bring some decent performance of some hits like our usual

吻别， 男人不该让女人流泪，爱要倘荡荡，只想一生跟你走 and also kiss goodbye. with these songs, we marked an end to this season of superband series. All thanks to superband, we know that we're appreciated by you out there. nevertheless jade enjoyed ourselves spending time with you also.

although i might be not performing so much in the superband finals show other than the start dance, we appointed to start the dance. having lots of things to say but lesser time to write it all in here. so i hope all of you have the patience to wait for us ....

dear all, am very sorry for not blogging recently. the schedules and things i have on hand are real packed. at the same time with some preparations going on with the gathering as we will be presenting a short segment for that day. i also have some other things on my planning list as well.

recently helping dasmond with his book launch and the design of his website. www.dasmondkoh.com is designed by me. yes. feel free to drop any comments for me in here to let me know where i can improve on. was working till wee hours of the early morning for the past few days ...

for this time being. am preparing for some auditions and demos .... am abit helpless though because professionally i don't play any instruments by myself. am abit handicapped in a way. so am helpless at the moment unless i master a new software in the shortest time to produce the demos.

i'll be attending this sunday recording to watch the revival show of superband. not sure what time will i be reaching but i guess should be around 6pm...

星期天見﹗

been getting ready and trying to record the instruments for my song.... but guess what ! my pc hung with milli seconds of intermittent. most probably should be something wrong with my hard disk. so sad ... i can't record the song until i send the hard disk for repair.

yet another disaster. i'm sick ~ and yes again .... maybe due to the weather recently that everyone around me is falling sick. had been eating well. until yesterday... having a very bad cough at the moment ....

well... was pretty exciting watching superband live from the recording studio. the feeling is different .... well watching the show live today i feel the judges are abit harsh on some groups personally and too lenient on the points for some groups.... looking from a viewers' point of views. i feel that the teams are being pretty stranded with no ideas on how to perform the song.... and putting aside the need to actually score the points ....

but no doubts on the judges' professional judgment.

in this superband competition, teams have to give surprises and entertain the audience with new ideas every week. it's not an easy task. because the audience and judges expect them to play not only music. but to entertain them with new ideas every week. i feel it's not easy  ... especially in the themes night. it had been difficult on them.

actually if talking about faults or finding mistakes, there'll never be ending finding and digging on the mistakes. so basically i guess it will be only to score with the least mistakes and play a song which gives enough surprises to actually outstand. in a competition, it's to impress the judges and audience. not to only play and pass ..... and to do and fulfill it's not easy ...

well ok above mention are only my opinions on the live show yesterday... just sharing a piece of my thoughts. not siding anyone. (but i do have my personal favourite to be lucify) and on another point, giving fellow bands my best wishes to them in these final few rounds. hope that they can do well and let nature take its course ...

special thanks for those who attended and watched the recording with us. it's nice seeing all the superband supporters again and of course we tried hard to remember your names... not forgetting those who had been always there to support us actually went as well. nevertheless i see new faces and remembered a few new names like, xiangyi, pek choo, joanna, kittycess, bee lay and so on ... but sorry there were really too many of you ... my apologies for not able to mention or remember all ..... but you  can drop me a msg on friendster or if you have photos taken with me, can actually send the photos to me via my email yusheng@jademusicasia.com  

here's some updates as requested. i had been busy with  song writing and vocal practices.... well, doesn't mean when there's no competition, i stop singing. well doing music is not for superband only ... but it's part of my life ... definitely there're friends who scolded me bring crazy and some admiring the courage i have... well i believe in working hard for everything i do, irregardless what job or what am i doing. and of course with no regrets. as long as i am answerable for myself, it's enough ... and i strongly believe, if no hardwork is being put in, there's no way to expect results. those studying or working out there, bear this in mind. in life, it's actually what u want to achieve. there're people who are just working and enjoying their work, and there're people who actually grumble what they are doing ....  well look at this, if a person choose to do nothing but to grumble or complain all day and pass time, there's definitely no way out. ( not that we can't grumble, but think of solutions to problems as well. ) like that i've been doing... enjoy what you have now and make the best adjustment to things / yourself to enable you in improving your working environment and life.

life is a journey of excitements with things you choose to do... everyday, everything that happens actually is what you choose to be and what you had chosen in doing since young ... like people choose to work hard and made their way through to be doctors ? professionals ? so let's make tomorrow a better day for everyone ... live everyday as if it's your last day. but not spend money as if there's no tomorrow... haha

it's a great day to actually celebrate for xiaolong and me ... guess what ? after 2 months without a family car, finally our new car arrived yesterday !! during the start of april, we sold our previous car off to a second hand dealer because it actually broke down to the extend that repair is gonna cost us like thousand over .... so happily we booked for a new car toyota vios. though it's not as spacious as the previous one we had. but definitely it's going to save us more money in long run, comparing with our previous car.

was actually replying my friendster msg in the late evening till now .... found out that there's lots of messages i have not reply and trying hard to clear them ... sorry i've i had missed out or repeat my replies ....

there's this girl who's mum had passed away in an accident somewhere in 2004 i guess .... and the feeling is like ya ... i can feel that pain that she's going through ... this kind of things can never be brought back or time can never be turned back .... well looking at a brighter side .... what we can do is just move on .....

this is what i've replied, " looking back at yesterday, always tell yourself that present is what you must treasure and tomorrow shall be what you must work for .... " . i guess some of you who had lost something really important in your life before could feel this pain and agony ... but we should even more treasure this experience that can bring us a mystery tomorrow ....

Time is always cruel ... up till this day, i had redo my 4 songs which i had written and another 6 new songs waiting for arrangement and lyrics ... and bryan is so busy with his work .... mr muscles ah ... when will you be free to do the arrangement .... and shaun also promise me to write songs ... where had it gone ??  the most updates i get is from bozz... he had been doing his stuffs and updating with shows and gigs prospect .... not sure how far we can go. but we will push on .....

time to get back to my keyboard....

after a short break away from singapore. i'm back again for more updates to you .... recently had been getting busy with bryan doing some compositions... waiting for the lyrics to be filled in and the songs to be arranged before i can start recording... hopefully you are able to hear the first few pieces sometime in mid of end june.

talking about my trip .... i was in genting highlands malaysia for 4 days.... not a very long trip but enough to get some rest and away from music scores and anything to do with music for a short while .... it indeed had charged me up. now refreshed and ready to go ahead for the next million miles ... the funniest thing that had happened in genting was ... me and xiaolong thought we would not be recognized by the people in genting .... BUT we are pretty alarmed ... people from JB who are actually in genting asked us to take photo with them .... a couple of them ... was surprised. and also before we were back, people already know that we went genting. your news are really fast.
