in coffee bean right now having coffee ... hahah what am i talking ... anyway just back from my bangkok trip after my frankfurt new york flight ... after the 15 hours of work i just went home to pack and unpack my cargo bag and went on flight to bangkok via airasia... the ticket cost me 234 dollars for a return ticket which is slightly more expensive that my singapore airline staff ticket. which cost only 210+ and there's food and drink on board ... but airasia is self sufficient.... due to the good friday and the sunday we're coming back. it's the price we have to pay .... cause everyone is travelling at the same time for a short holiday.

in bangkok, 1st day we went to wat por temple to pray... with the big sleeping buddha in the temple ... enriching and fruitfull ... cause it's a blessing ... follow by massage and our late lunch... in the evening we went shopping and walk around in ma boon kong in bangkok orchard road ... the people address that place as mbk... it's the hottest shopping district you can find selling all things from handphone to clothing and food... the 7 storey building is full of students and adults on friday but we went off earlier because the shopping closes at 9 pm ... after mbk, we went back to have drinks session in our room and had an early night ....

2nd day was a saturday. me and mike went for bird nest and sharks fins in chinatown... was full of nice food .... spent like 50 sing dollars on both the fins and bird nest for each of us .... they also sell birdn nest in big tubs for bringing home. and it's alot cheaper than what lau hang jia is selling in singapore. ... it's like 2.5 times of the lau hang jia bottle and selling at only 145 sing dollars. very tempted to buy. but held back because i need my money to do other shopping... anyway it's very hard to stow and preserve. because of my late flight departing bangkok in the evening ....  that marks our noon and we went over to mbk for shopping .... bought t shirts in mbk and suan lum... i find that in bangkok they really sell nice self designed t shirts and only at the price of 6-8 dollars per t shirt... i bought like 7 pieces of them. had also bought a pair of leather shoes for work. and it cost only 30 over dollar in sing... very very cheap ... in singapore to find a good pair of leather shoes, it will cost me like 60 dollars at least.

before we end the 2nd day, we went to radchadai near my hotel that sq is letting us stay in for bangkok night stop flights. the place is pretty happening with 3 major disco pubs closing at 2 am and a food and pub joint closing at 6 am ...very happening right ...

last day, we woke up at 11am... prepare to check out and went out to jatuchak market. which is at JJ park. the famous weekend market is full of people everywhere. and it's so big that it has the size of 8 times of our bugis village. amazing isn't it ? but the weather and the crowd don't make me feel like shopping there .... after the market, we went to have our last massage before we go to the airport.

i find that in bangkok, it's good to learn how to take the mrt instead of taking cab. though cab it's cheap. but it's always jammed on the road of bangkok. unless it's after 9pm. that marks my bangkok trip ...

was busy doing flight for my frankfurt new york 4 sector flight ... was pretty fun with me and my leading steward desmond bring his laptop and we sharing our same interest in computer and time in the lobby surfing net and checking roster....

very fast it's my last flight with the team already and time really flies ... for the past 9 months plus with the team and 1 year plus with the company sia, it really left me lots of impression of different kind of people ... some good some bad ... but i decided to keep the good memories ... no point remembering the bad ones... it's always so unpleasant. my team 63k has lots of memories on the good fun times, normally with our gang of 4 / 5 guys ... with my malay leading steward who left the team in feb this year and leaving only 4 of us who are closer. who is jeremy my ifs, desmond my LS and azmeen my team galley steward.

had really learnt alot from them. and also was given a chance on this flight to learn about serving the cockpit crew and serving business class. it's really a rare opportunity to learn on my last team flight....

the path of life is about hi and byes ... in life you meet some people and only a few will leave an impression in your heart. with all the time spent with this particular group of people at a particular period of time. we should learn to treasure each other's company. cause you know that time will pull you apart again .... and start meeting new group of people ...

during this frankfurt new york trip, i've went to seaport to overlook the mahattan and brooklyn bridge. such nice scenery ... i've also bought quite a few pieces of clothes .... inclduing trousers and shirts. nice polo tees too ... in new york, also i've visited the times square where alicia key and usher shot the mtv my boo .... so cool ... never imagine i'm in mahattan new york !! new york is actually made up of 3 major cities ... imagine how big is that !?!?!  of course in frankfurt i don't see and haven get the chance to see anything yet ... frankfurt can be a very boring station ....

but nevertheless during my next flight to new york next month on the 21st apr, i'll find a chance to visit the statue of liberty. that's something that i haven't catch yet... think the weather should be better. cause it's going to be summer time already .... hurray... looking forward ... keepinig my hands crossed that my new team that i'll be flying with will be a nice and fruitful one just like this current one ...

all i can say that time really flies when i started to fly .. can feel that age is really catching up ... this is my first trip with my dearest darling my laptop .... hope my laptop can keep me company throughout the trips i make around the world and update more promptly my website and having more time to record and do music during my free time out station ....

now i'm going back to singapore ... reaching at 5pm singapore time ... and will be heading home to unpack and pack my luggage again ... cause will be leaving for bangkok trip with my buddy mike !! cheers ... cya all when i'm back in singapore ....

[ 09th mar 2005 ]

Just touched down from japan... was so tired. cause of my sleeping pattern i got so lethargic after the flight. Didn't really go out in narita ... once touched down in narita, i slept from morning 9am till 5pm ... there after i woke up for makan in the narita village and fell back asleep. from 11pm till 2am then tossing in bed since 3-5am before i really got up to prepare for work at 6am. then after working 7 hours i found myself back in singapore .... didn't spend much in narita. i survive on 1000 yen only !! went to have a pork fried rice and then went to the mini stop to buy a beer. in all i spent 750 yen for the fried rice and 271 yen for the asahi beer .... helped me save money to buy my laptop. :P

the computer fair gonna start soon on the 10th mar. I'll be free to go see the fair after i do my work on the 11th mar. which is a bangkok turn around starting from morning 6.50am ending at 14.40 pm. hurray .... counting down on my owning of laptop. so that i can have lots of time overseas to do my things !! most probably will be buying dell ... coz i've been seeing all the best offers from dell that they can offer out of a 2.3k laptop compared to other brands which is priced around 3-3.8 for the laptop i'm looking at..

when i was in london from the 28th to 3mar, i never spend much money too.... spending only 10 pounds on food and internet !! i ate bread and my own fresh milk hehe my fav strawberry milk plus jam and bread !! after i touched down from london, i went home and packed for my trip to genting with my parents, my younger bro and two other friends of my dad !! touched down in singapore at 6+ pm reached home at 8pm i leave to malaysia and changed to my aunt's MPV Kia NAZA of 6 seater ! we drove all the way up to genting starting at 11.45pm reaching genting at 3.30am. whole journey at 3 hours and 45 mins . me and my dad took charge of the wheel, we cruise at 160 - 170 km/hr max speed for the highway. now then i know it's not easy driving on a dim lighted highway with on coming car headlights shining into our eyes. but both experienced drivers are good enough to bring everyone safe from point A to point B. coz both me and my dad enjoy driving so much ... :)

our family spent like 850RM for the whole trip, from hotel to petrol and my 50RM to the malaysia police as ang bao money for not booking me travelling at 110km/hr on a 80km/hr road. i recovered the expenditure from the casino. having a total winning of 1300 rm !! hurray ... spent around 100 rm on food and leisure,  350 rm left for myself which is $150.00 SG dollars as profit .... not bad a trip .... it had been like 4 years since i last visited genting ... it was sometime back before i enter army i visited genting highlands ... and it had been like 6 years i haven't visited genting with my whole family ... the four of us .... though the stay was short like 2 days 2 nights, but we enjoyed it .... my uncle is a chef taking charge of a makan joint in the casino and my aunt is the reservation operator manager of genting hotel ... they both had been working in the service industry for like 20 years already .... so actually when we were young, my parent brought us to genting quite often .... like almost every june or dec holidays annually ....

bought a bottle of perfume for my uncle, who gave me his Dupont lighter .... both of us are like good brothers .... just like me and my father ... so nice that our family are so close ... we party and ktv together ... ended up he's drunk for that night when we were singing at the ktv ... haha ... 10 of us finishing 1 and 3/4 of chivas and 3 jugs of beer .... all of them were quite high and tired ... i'm the only surviving one till morning 5.30am and that's the night i make the highest winning !!

actually after visiting so many casinos around the world, i find that actually gambling is a kind of sports. if you know when to stop and when to play, you learnt how to enjoy the sports ... but if you're addicted and don't have discipline to control when you should gamble, ,it will end up individuals with debts and troubles ... just like the news today when i got back to singapore. ... this guy actually killed his wife and 2 other children aged 4 and 12 before he committed suicide by jumping down his flat .... and his church pastor told the news that singapore shouldn't build a casino... cause this kind of things is happening to people. ... IN THE FIRST PLACE, if he can't control, there's nothing that can help him !! and most importantly ... it's just like if you don't eat pork, doesn't mean that singapore or malaysia can't sell pork ... and in that case, malaysia shouldn't have open the casino, because it's a muslim country .... but thinking back . if not for the casino, malaysia would live till today .... genting highlands and became the most revenue generating entertainment places.

just like smoking and drinking .... it's a source of income for the government ! as simple as ABC. if the casino is not built in singapore, our finance will end up in other country's pocket .... and singapore is facing lots of illegal underground gambling dens. it's about more than just ethics and the  people. it's more of country issue .... but don't know why singaporeans object building of casino in singapore. well ... for me i have no objections at all ... we must look at the bigger picture of the issue ! isn't it right ??
