[ 31th dec 2003 ]

This is the last day of 2003. I've finally got out of army on 12th Dec 2003. To me it's a relief from over exploiting exercise on me. Finally I'm off their hands. Recently started learning singing from Peter Chen ( Music Clinic), who previously was Sun Yanzi's vocal teacher as well. I find that he's a devoted musician and has got great talents with vocals techniques and control. If I were half of him, that will be good. That was what happened to me in the early part of December.

Currently I'm also working on my songs. Recently had arranged 3 songs and recording the vocals all on my own. With help from my guitarist Lawrence, I think that's the best demo that I can produce for the publishing house. Other than the 3 songs that are on track, Darren is still working on the other 4 songs that I've wrote. He's the man that my lyrics are from.

At the same time, I'm short listed for interview with Singapore Airlines as a cabin crew. My resources (financially) are getting extremely low. I might join SIA first if they offer me a contract. Get the money first and then wait for chances to shine. Or if anyone has got any good opportunities for me, I don't mind the recommendation !!

Actually, in the morning, I was back from a mahjong session last night, when I heard the news on radio station that Anita Mui had passed away, I was pretty depressed. In a year, The Asia entertainment industry had lost 3 great entertainers which I respect. Leslie Cheung, Ke Shou Liang, Anita Mui. I can feel the pain and agony when I read through the papers and the news. It's a very sophisticated kind of feeling that I couldn't describe. Maybe because I wanted to be an entertainer myself. Seeing the 3 of them passed away at such a young age. It's pretty sad ......

That's for all, folks ! Last but not least I wish everyone a Happy New Year ! A better year ahead.

[ 17th dec 2003 ]

In the later part of December 2003, I was actually taking part in the Talentquest 2004 competition. Was in the singing category at first, till the last minute before my audition starts, I registered in the Emcee-ing category and went into the audition room for my vocals and emcee 1st round test.
It really caught me by surprised, when they announced the results. I got in for the singing category. And for the Emcee-ing category, I got a straight jump into the Grand finals (held on 27th March 2004) !! It's really the biggest thing that I could achieve within the shortest amount of time after I've completed my National Service. So for people out there who know me, better get ready to bring banners and supporters to the Grand finals held in NUS Cultural Theatre.

As for singing, I'm not that lucky about it. I got out in the third round of the competition when everyone was thinking that I should have got in. Actually I found out that they had quarreled internally (the organizing committees) about my exit from the 3rd round. Well, all I can say is, not everyone's taste is the same. Let it be. I've got over it in a day. I still have my emceeing to get busy with as well.
